Hot Pressed and Ready to Spin

THE NEVER ENDING BATTLE...

Sirens sound, warning... something has gone wrong on our city block. They split concrete like aftershocks, reminding us that we live in a war zone and that the death toll is rising. Flying through the red lights they push us aside, forcing us to think about the string of cries that call one after the other, Why...

Fifth Battalion is accustomed to the war, they have survived its random aim and verbal hail. They have set up their production studio in the heart of the battle lands without fear or hesitation. A simple invitation went out to all who dare to dream of a better way. The call was answered by LA’s Underground prophets. One by one they stepped to the Mic. One hypnotic track after another they set their stories free.

In a city where street signs divide like crime scene tape, there is little hope that people could ever find common ground. THE NEVER ENDING BATTLE is that common ground, it is the backbeat of a movement lead by the souldiers themselves to take back their streets, their names, their dignity and live life with a sincere respect for one another. To invent a brotherhood and sisterhood that only speaks the language of stubborn optimism and bitter truth is the real that comes along when a ear lands on the new landscape of war. Imagine the tide turned from bloody red to deep purple, the shrill of pain now a bass line catching speed as it picks up the bodies left behind and guides them toward the center of hope.

Consider the birth of hip hop, also brutal, rock with its growing pains, reggae with its fist always in the air and poetry with its constant breath of truth. Consider the whole sound of all nations at the table, spitting perspective in a way that demands reflection, inspires creation and bonds stranger to stranger. Consider the length of time you drive to work or take to read the paper, the endless reel of bad news, all those sirens going off in your head. Consider answering their call, participating in a sound that could change the destiny of a city. Consider it time to END the battle.
